Amadeus, a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel industry, has teamed up with the Tune Group in a bid to boost the travel technology startup scene in the Asia Pacific region.
The partnership will have Amadeus own corporate startup Amadeus Next working with Tune Labs in creating a community of like-minded partners that will drive technological innovation in the region’s travel and tourism industry.
Amadeus Asia Pacific president Albert Pozo said startups can disrupt the status quo by challenging and pushing technology to new frontiers.
“They play a significant role in shaping the future of travel and how we can evolve services and offerings to travelers. Partnering with Tune Labs is a huge milestone for Amadeus Next as we continue to build the leading travel tech startup community in the Asia Pacific,” Pozo said.
For his part, Tune Group chief executive officer Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said, “We are seeing a lot of startup talents in this region but many of them do not have the support and opportunities their western counterparts are getting.
By collaborating with Amadeus, an equally enthusiastic partner, we can unleash the full potential of entrepreneurs in our region, allowing them to innovate, disrupt and achieve growth.”
Aside from Tune Labs, Amadeus Next is also working with Hubba Thailand, Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre, E27, TravHQ and Jungle Ventures — partnerships that are integral to Amadeus Next’s aim of developing a collaborative travel startup community in the region.
Amadeus Next allows startups to develop new ideas and scale their businesses by leveraging technology, expertise, reach and funding.
Having partners such as Tune Labs on board means members of the Amadeus Next community can also benefit from access to customers and their much-needed validation, allowing startups to quickly prove their model or solution.
Tune Labs is a Malaysia-based startup offering incubator and accelerator programs seeking to identify, mentor and fund entrepreneurs across the Asean region. Amadeus is present in 14 countries across the Asia Pacific region.
