Representasia, the Thailand-based hotel & travel technology specialists, this week added award-winning US startup Proxce to their portfolio of hotel technology partners, bringing proximity identity management to hotels in Southeast Asia.
Proxce, based in Silicon Valley California, have developed identity management technology that uses Bluetooth-based iBeacons to alert front desk staff to guests’ imminent arrival, facilitating automatic check-in and avoiding long waiting times at reception. Hotels can also combine the technology with Proxce’s keyless entry solutions, allowing guests to bypass reception altogether and unlock their room door using their mobile phone.
The solution won the inaugural Next Big Thing Travel & Hospitality Technology Award and the Most Innovative Startup Award at the Travel Innovation Summit at this year’s Phocuswright Conference. “For us, a true personal experience is going to a hotel and having the comforts of home like going to your room directly,” said Madhu Madhusudhanan, Proxce’s CEO. “Our goal is to fundamentally re-define the hotel check-in experience by providing a simple, yet affordable and intuitive system for hotels to manage automatic check-in. As for the guest, just their presence is enough.”
Madhu is also delighted to have partnered with Representasia to launch Proxce in the region. “Partnering with Representasia allows us to cater to the booming market in Asia” he told us. “Hotels in Asia are demanding the latest technology to provide a better guest experience. Representasia brings years of valuable local sales experience, allowing Proxce to focus on our product.”
Tim Russell, Representasia’s Co-founder & CMO, is similarly excited at the new partnership. “We’re thrilled to be adding this innovative product to our hotel solutions portfolio” he said. “Research suggests that more and more business travellers now expect to be able to check in to hotels remotely, and it is only a matter of time before hotels in Southeast Asia follow this trend. We’re proud to be ahead of the curve in bringing this technology to the region.”
Proxce joins a rapidly growing portfolio of hospitality technology solutions offered by Representasia, including web booking engine, channel management, revenue management, social WiFi, customer satisfaction surveys, loyalty solutions, GDS connectivity and more.
